Well, for those who don't already know, Ann and I are facing a disciplinary board after the Latter Day Saints Church discovered our blogs. Someone from our ward cam across and connected who is who and turned it in to the bishop. I found out about all this on Tuesday and the bishop asked us not to attend church until the board convenes. We don't have a date on that as of yet as the Bishopric has to be present. The Stake president might even be presiding over it as well. The LDS church actually catching a practicing polygamist in their midst is, I guess is something of a rare event.
I am not focusing on the future with the LDS church or the upcoming disciplinarian board. I believe my wives were a blessing of god to put them in my life and again I find myself challenged on my convictions. The First was the Passing of my beloved Wendie and what God would want me to learn from that. now this is the second that is testing my faith in the principle that God gave me in relation.
Of course the Bishop did read me the Official Declaration that President Wilford Wilson wrote in 1890. This was the famous Manifesto that was mad by the church to stop practicing Plural marriages as the US government was preparing to take church property. The United States was limiting the rights of Americans to whom they could marry and defining marriage as one man and one woman.
Now on the political front lines is marriage rights of a different sort.. The hot debate of the same sex marriage issue. Several states have already allowed same sex unions.
For well over a hundred years in this country marriage definition have been an issue that been argued and fought over. some have even died over it.
Now back in my world. I don't have any revelation for the LDS church as a whole., just for myself and that of my family. The board will only do one thing and that will be to excommunicate Ann and I when we refuse to abandon our two extra wives. We could but I believe my revelation and the living of God's commandments greater then any position or calling in the church of the LDS.
So that leaves with us but one choice. Until God directs us to another church, I will have to exercise the priesthood that I have been granted and lead my family spiritually. That will mean the set up of a home church to give the sacrament and to observe the sabbath. This will be completely new to me as it not just a home evening but actually hold a service.
We have begun to prepare for the sabbath by procuring supplies. J-Ann will make unleavened bread and we bought a koshered concord grape juiced. While the LDS Uses tap water and regular bread bought in the stores, I feel lead that preparing for the sacrament is just as important as the blessing and administering it. If we are going to do this we are going to do it on the right foot.
